The verdict
A practical mainland stop for provisions, boat jobs and a pleasant evening ashore. The marina is in San Gregorio bay, about 2.5 km from town; do not confuse it with the town waterfront. No berth booking or weather clearance is implied by this guide.
A little history
Ancient Agatirno preceded the modern town. Orlando’s name is linked by legend to Charlemagne’s paladin Roland, not established historical fact. Capo d’Orlando became independent of neighbouring Naso in 1925.
What to see & do
- Monte della Madonna: sanctuary, castle remains and the headland viewpoint; combine with a stroll on the town seafront.
- San Gregorio: an easy local shoreline outing near the marina; a gentler option than a town expedition.
- Bagnoli Roman baths: third-century baths with mosaic floors and hot, warm and cold rooms. Confirm opening/access before walking over.
Two genuinely unusual finds
- Cave del Mercadante: circular quarry scars and stone discs in the port area. Often called old millstone workings, but their interpretation is disputed. More intriguing than another souvenir shop.
- Villa Piccolo: aristocratic house, literary history and magical watercolours—with a pet cemetery containing Crab, dog of The Leopard author Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.
Villa: C.da Vina, SS113 km109; taxi outing. Published tours Mon–Sat 10/11/12; Mon–Fri 16/17/18. Morning booking required; confirm today: 0941 957029 / 380 6488015.
Eat & drink
- Anciova pizza & putia: pizza and Sicilian-inspired plates at the marina. 0941 328627.
- A Pulera: Mediterranean food and cocktails at the marina. 327 8114687.
- Local flavours: look for granita and brioche, caponata and the day’s fish. Restaurant hours, takeaway and boat-food delivery not confirmed.
Groceries delivered to the boat
Yes—published marina delivery options:
- Despar Marine, inside the marina, Contrada Bagnoli. 0941 426021. Its own website explicitly advertises delivery aboard boats. Fresh groceries, snacks and sandwiches; Monday–Sunday advertised, exact hours unverified.
- Boningros, Via Consolare Antica 279. 0941 913123; ordini@boningros.com. Barcando recommends its online provisions delivery specifically for Capo d’Orlando Marina. Confirm availability for a private yacht.
Ask first: berth number, slot, minimum spend and delivery fee. Neither source confirms delivery to boats at anchor; arrange harbour collection if offered. No order placed.
Harbour & getting ashore
- Capo d’Orlando Marina: VHF 09; +39 0941 964512; info@capodorlandomarina.it. Contrada Bagnoli.
- Facilities: water/electricity, fuel, showers, Wi-Fi and self-service laundry.
- Transport: courtesy bicycles, taxi contacts and a summer shuttle are advertised. Check September shuttle operation with reception.
- Anchoring/dinghy: this is not a pilotage plan. Check current wind/swell, local restrictions and permitted landing with the harbour; no tender pickup verified.
Chandlery & boat jobs
Multinautic 2.0, within the marina, Contrada San Gregorio. 0941 964506; info@multinautic2.it. Verified Seldén/Furlex dealer and rigging-service contact; marina yard advertises mechanical/electrical work and a 110-ton lift.
Service yard, not a verified walk-in chandlery. Retail hours and parts stock unknown—phone for the exact fitting before heading over. Reception is also the practical contact for the nearest open pharmacy.
What I’d do
Arrange groceries to the berth, sort boat bits, then take a bike or taxi into town for the headland and seafront. For something memorable, book Villa Piccolo instead. Finish with supper at the marina—no need to haul shopping the 2.5 km back.

Researched 22 September 2026 from published sources. Opening hours, stock, delivery slots, fees and access have not been phone-confirmed. Boat delivery is advertised to the marina; delivery at anchor is not confirmed. No private boat position or guest information is published.
