HOLD LOCAL / CAUTION
No offshore leg today. Keep it local, and only move if the harbour needs a very small shuffle.
Daily weather and passage plan
Updated 31 July 2026, 06:20 CEST for Everything Zen at 35.89556 N, 14.49881 E in the Marsamxett / Valletta pocket. Malta Met Office is still showing a red weather warning for strong winds, but the pocket itself starts light: Open-Meteo has about 2.6 kt with 5.6 kt gusts at 04:00, about 5.6 kt with 13.8 kt gusts by 09:00, and about 6.7 kt with 16.5 kt gusts by noon. The marine model keeps seas around 0.4 to 0.5 m, while the official mariners forecast says partly cloudy becoming fine with NNW force 2 to 3. That is HOLD LOCAL / CAUTION, not a passage day.
Warnings first
Everything Zen is still parked in the Marsamxett / Valletta pocket. The sensible move is to stay in the harbour system, keep any shuffle tiny, and let the warning line relax before thinking about distance.

The latest credible fix keeps Everything Zen at 35.89555 N, 14.49881 E, so the boat is properly parked in the Valletta pocket rather than auditioning for sea miles.
Open-Meteo shows about 2.6 kt with 5.6 kt gusts at dawn, 5.6 kt with 13.8 kt gusts by 09:00, and about 6.7 kt with 16.5 kt gusts by noon, while the official mariners forecast keeps it light to moderate and settling later.
The marine model keeps Marsamxett around 0.54 m at dawn, easing toward about 0.36 m by evening. Usable, but still a no-pass port day.
Captain Ron verdict
The boat is already where it should be, so there is no need to go hunting for trouble in open water.
The official warning is the loudest thing in the room, and the later gust line is close enough to deserve a proper side-eye.
Use the day for a tiny harbour shuffle or Valletta shore run only if needed. Otherwise stay in the pocket and let the harbour do the heavy lifting.
